BAKED BANANA BREAD DONUTS + MAPLE CINNAMON CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

I’m just gonna leave this right here because I know you’re not actually tired of banana bread. No one is. And these are donuts. Gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free donuts made with plant-based protein. Now go make a batch for tonight’s dessert or tomorrow’s coffee pairing and get ready for your house to smell incredible.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED


for the donuts:

  • 1 1/2 cups gf oat flour (I use Bob's Red Mill)

  • 1/2 cup Orgain Vanilla Plant-Based Protein Powder with Superfoods

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp fine sea salt

  • 4 mashed bananas

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup ghee

  • 2 eggs

for the frosting:

  • plain cream cheese (to keep these dairy-free, I use Kite Hill almond milk cream cheese)

  • maple syrup

  • cinnamon


DIRECTIONS


PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees and grease your donut pan with coconut oil

WHISK dry ingredients in a large bowl

MIX wet ingredients in a separate bowl

COMBINE wet ingredients into dry, stirring until smooth

FILL donut molds to the rim

BAKE for 15 min or until the center is cooked through

COOL and spread with plain cream cheese sweetened with maple syrup + cinnamon to taste
